Continuing our series on Natural Gas trading from our preiouos article, Natural Gas Companies & Stocks for Trading & Investments, here is the list of top 10 nat gas companies in USA:
1. Exxon Mobil
Reproted to have an average Daily Natural Gas Production of around 4 billion cubic feet.
As of 2010, the Reserves were reported to be at 79 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (26.1 trillion in the U.S.).
2. Chesapeake Energy
Spread across with 15 states in USA, actively working in 38,900 gas wells.
Reported to have an average Daily Natural Gas Production: 2.6 billion cubic feet.
Revenue: $9.4 billion. (2010)
As of 2010, the Reserves were reported to be 14.3 trillion cubic feet of gas equivalent
3. Anadarko
Truely multi-national company, having presence in USA, Asia, Africa, South America and New Zealand.
Worldwide, natural gas makes up just over half of Anadarko's reserves, but 87 percent of the new wells it drilled in the United States last year were gas wells. Like many other companies, Anadarko is increasingly looking for oil- and liquids-rich production this year.
Average Daily Natural Gas Production: 2.4 billion cubic feet.
4. Devon Energy
A major player in USA and Canada. Last reports were that it will also move into Angola and Brazil. Primary reserves are in natural gas.
Reported to have an average Daily Natural Gas Production of 2 billion cubic feet.
5. BP or British Petroleum
Basically an oil company, but have 40% of natural gas reserves
6. Encana
7. ConocoPhillips
8. Southwestern Energy Co.
9. Chevron
10. Williams Energy
Other than the top 10 mentioned above, there are few more comapnies which are fully integrated natural gas companies.
Allegheny Energy (NYSE:AYE) and Nicor.
Both are involved in all the business phases of Natural Gas - production, development, transportation, and distribution of natural gas.
